There’s a lot of tips and tricks you learn throughout your time here at Agnes. Especially for the first years who don’t know their way around just yet, there may be some crucial information that could save you a lot of time and money.

1.Get yourself some exercise and walk to Kroger instead of the CVS

The CVS on Ponce De Leon is overpriced, especially with food. You can find a lot of college staples under $5 as well as other things you may need (i.e    feminine products, those can make or break your bank.) If you get the Kroger card, you will save even more!

2.Snap Fitness is usually full by 9:30 PM, try to go on one of the shoulder times!

Because Snap Fitness is closed from 5:00-8:00 for students and no one has time to go to the gym during the day, everyone looks for some way to destress themselves. “What better way to let that all go by a quick run on the treadmill,” said everyone on campus. Earlier workouts in the morning are less hectic and better for your metabolism and energy levels!

3.Joining certain clubs or working on certain sites on campus can get you some sweet privileges

For example, if you work on Programming Board, which is in charge of the Red Light Green Light and the Black Cat formal just to name a few events, you could get free tickets to these events and save yourself some money. If you happen to work at the café down in Alston, you can get free lunch or item of your choice to help save your declining for finals week.

4.Bored with the food at Evans? Here are some recipes that may do you some good for your soul

Mint hot chocolate float: 1 scoop of mint chocolate chip ice cream, fill cup up with hot chocolate.

Rootbeer float: This is an easy one, just get a scoop of vanilla ice cream and fill up your cup with coke or rootbeer.

Lemon/Orange water: If you have the time to, grab a plastic knife and cut some orange slices to put in your water. Get the lemon from the spread section in the dining hall.  It’s an instant thirst quencher and helps detox your body from all the junk food you might eat.
