Zach Shreve is the definition of a student athlete. As a Junior Psychology major, he is always extremely busy running to class or qualifying for an upcoming meet. Shreve runs the 110 hurdles, which are his specialty and also runs the 200 meter and 4×4 races. Shreve is currently a National Provisional Qualifier.
He started running when he was in sixth grade at Winfield Middle School near Charleston, West Virginia. He decided to join the track and field team at Wesleyan after visiting several times. “I liked Wesleyan”, Shreve stated, “so I didn’t really look anywhere else”. His long running career has paid off as he earned the very last WVIAC Conference Champion title in the 110 hurdles, was a finalist for WVIAC Runner of the Year in 2013, and was also WVIAC Runner of the Week.
Shreve says his favorite memory of being a Wesleyan track star are any trips the team took together, especially the Spring Break beach trip! He’s so dedicated that he even has a track tattoo. If Zach Shreve could give anyone advice, he would remind you: “Don’t skip leg day!” Get to know this celeb and wish him luck on his upcoming meets! He’s a hoot.
