Kiss Me Like You Miss Me

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Rowan chapter.

As Valentine Day approaches we all go rummaging through our closets or stores looking for the perfect dress, shoes, bag, gift, etc. Let me tell you my biggest weapon on Valentine’s Day, my lipstick. I know it sounds silly but your lips looking good are essential. I mean who knows you might just get a kiss that night and having them look their best is important.  Fear not single ladies this includes you as well. Don’t waste your time moping with a bucket of Ben and Jerry’s and a sappy love movie.  Just throw a little lipstick and go dancing with your girls. I have a few favorite lips colors for Valentine’s Day and believe me these guys will be on their toes.

Did you know that a women wearing lipstick makes men gaze at their lips for an average of seven seconds.

Team Red Lipstick:  A red lipstick is the best color choice for Valentine’s Day. If you’re like me and love bold colors, red is right for you.  I choose to do matte lipsticks because they are more pigmented.  Here are some of my favorite reds that will get any mans blood pumping.  Retro Matte RiRi Woo, Russian Red, and Retro Matte Heaux. These three reds are different shades of reds but look great on any complexion.  They range around $15 and come in many different reds. So stop by MAC before Valentine’s Day to find your shade of red.

Pretty in Pink: Pink is another lip color that looks good on just about any woman. The wonderful aspect of pink is that it’s more feminine, soft and easy on the eyes. Pink lipstick goes well with any outfit as well since it’s usually a softer color. If you’re like me and into the bold pink I would try Candy Yum Yum or All Fired up by MAC. It’s the perfect color for a more bold pink. If you want a softer sheer pink color I would try YSL’s lipstick Rogue Volupte. MAC lipsticks range around $15 and YSL is around $35.

Tip: before putting on lipstick get some chapstick, then pat your lips down with a tissue paper and finally you can apply your lipstick.

I hope you all enjoyed my post about pink and red lipsticks. I hope you all have a wonderful Valentine’s Day. Oh and one more reminder, after your done the kissing don’t forget to reapply (wink).
