UFashion: Valentine’s Day Outfits for Any Relationship Status

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at UFL chapter.

Ah, Valentine’s Day. Love it or hate it, it’s coming, and it’s inventible. Whether you’re celebrating with a significant other or your fellow single ladies, this day is the perfect excuse to dress up in your cutest outfit. Here are just a few ideas I threw together to inspire your own outfit on the world’s day of love:

A Hot Date Instead of wearing a red or pink dress, which can become a little monotonous around this time of year, opt for another color to really stand out from the crowd and keep your date’s eyes on you. I chose a body-hugging dress that comes down to just above the knee for a classy look with a dash of sexy. Complete a simple dress like this with a pair of bright colored heels for the ultimate match made in heaven.

Girls’ Night Out Valentine’s Day should include celebrating not only love for a boyfriend or girlfriend, but also love for the girls who always have your back! If you’re planning a single ladies’ night out with your closest girlfriends, swear off boys by looking your best in something a little more revealing. I chose a strapless peplum top to show some skin on my upper half and balanced it out with some high-waisted jeans. If you feel a little too exposed, just throw on a printed cardigan like I did for a practical eye catcher. You can also easily switch up this look by choosing a short skirt or shorts instead to show some leg and keep your top mainly covered.

Casual Night In You don’t always have to go out to have a good time on Valentine’s Day. Feel free to stay in for a movie with your date or some friends and choose a more casual outfit like I did. I paired a sheer top with a faux leather skirt for a touch of toughness, but I couldn’t resist adding a pink blazer for the festivities. Make sure the pop of color doesn’t make you look tacky. I finished the look with a pair of my favorite nude flats, which can be a more comfortable way to make you look taller thanks to their color.

Whatever your relationship status may be this Valentine’s Day, make sure to embrace it in style. Happy Valentine’s Day!
