This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Chapel Hill chapter.

This week’s Campus Cutie is from Shelby, NC and is a junior at UNC. Perhaps you recognize the name from Carolina Fever emails, because he serves as the Fever Public Relations Chair. He is an avid sports fan and is also on the Carolina Athletic Projects Committee (CAPS) here at UNC! To add to his impressive campus involvement, Russell is also one of the 2014 Orientation Leaders. What’s cuter than a Campus Cutie who loves Carolina THIS much?

Favorite Hobby: Frisbee

Celebrity Crush: George Clooney

Future Career Goal: A lawyer or a History Professor

Biggest Turn-Off: Smoking…or Rudeness

Favorite Song: It really depends on the week. I really like Bed Peace by Jhené Aiko.

Best Pick-up line: None.

Nickname: Ruccs. (At this point, his friend chimed in: “No one calls you Ruccs”, to which Russell responded “Everyone in my fantasy football league calls me Ruccs” His friend, unsatisfied with this response replied: “I would say people call you Russ”)

On the Bball courts people call me the bulldozer. (Moments later) I used to be called Bugs.

Favorite Movie: The Dark Knight

Coolest Place you’ve visited: “D.C.” (Remember he’s a history major, folks)

Describe yourself in 3 words: Funny. Kind. Genuine.

What do you find attractive in a girlfriend? A sense of humor, a good fashion sense…a girl that has some really nice fashion, I can dig that. I’m not a big fan of leggings, it’s lazy to me. Also, the ability to cook because I really enjoy cooking. Oh, and athleticism (especially frisbee, soccer, or basketball).

Favorite thing about UNC: Undoubtedly the people. There are so many amazing minds from all backgrounds and I am humbled daily to be counted among them.
