Who needs a significant other this Valentine’s Day when you have awesome best friends! Never rule out the love of a true friendship. When you’re fretting over not having a date for V-day, remember these seven reasons why friends make better Valentines anyway!

1. Don’t sweat it! There’s no pressure.

From getting ready for the date to ending the night…. there’s zero pressure when it comes to having your BFF as your Valentine. That dress isn’t hugging your curves as well as you would have liked? Who cares! Your bestie won’t! She thinks you look amazing regardless! Order what you want. Pig-out in fact! Thought you’d have to “put out”? Guess again! With friends, there’s no need to stress. So forget crossing your legs, keeping your shoulders back, and maintaining that million-dollar smile.  You don’t have to prove to your bestie that you’re an amazing young woman. Friends knows that!

2. Friends already know what you like.

Without the constant hint dropping, guys are often clueless as to what we really want. But no, no–not your BFF! Friends already know what candy is your favorite, what flowers you’d like, what your favorite restaurant is, what movie you’d want to see, and much, much more! Should you choose to exchange any gifts, the chances that they’ll share with you what you give are likely…Talk about a bonus of having a friend as your valentine!

3. True friends never disappoint.

Ladies, you know it hurts even if just a little when our dates or lovers don’t get it right. Maybe they didn’t bring you flowers like you were expecting. Maybe they didn’t pick up those hints you were putting down. Maybe they didn’t say that one little thing you were expecting them to say. The possibilities can be endless. But with friends…you probably won’t have as many high expectations, if any. So there’s no way your girls or guys can let you down. It’s practically surefire that you’ll have a great night!

4. You’re sure to have a laugh… Or two!

With friends, there’s always an open door for crude jokes, gag gifts, or silly homemade cards. And friends usually walk on through without looking back. So there’s no doubt that you’ll have a Valentine’s Day full of laughs and memories that will last until next year’s V-Day. You just won’t get that kind of pure comedy with a significant other (that date would probably be too serious and high-staked for those kinds of things).

5. Comfort is not even a question.

Awkwardness…? Yea right! You’ve put in serious work to reach a level of comfort with your friends; a level of comfort that’s almost disturbing. There’s no way your Valentines date will be stuffy, nerve-racking, or embarrassing. You’ll have no trouble at all relaxing and being yourself.

6. No doubt, your friends will stick around.

Us girls have a way of allowing hundreds of questions and doubts to enter our heads after a date. Will they call or text? Will we see each other again? Did I say anything I shouldn’t have? Blah, blah, blah, the list goes on. But your BFF will definitely text you afterwards. You’ll see each other again and probably every day after that even. There’s nothing you wouldn’t have needed to say to them (well, you know what I mean for the sake of this argument). Spending V-day with a friend simply won’t bring all of the doubts that a true date would.

7. The connection is UNDENIABLE.

There’s no doubting the chemistry that you and your BFF have.  Everyone already thinks you’re perfect for each other. You won’t have to stress over whether or not the connection is there. You know the love is real and probably stronger than that of any other love you could have for another Valentine. Enough said.

So peace, love, and happiness. Enjoy your Valentine’s Day Besties!
