Valentine’s Day can be a great holiday…if you have a special someone to spend it with. Based on past experience, I can tell you that it is also one of those days that many people dread for the obvious reasons. Facebook has been recently trying to help out with that, though. For all the hopeless romantics out there searching for the perfect place to go to find love, the social networking site conducted a study to rank the top five cities for singles looking for love. With over half of all Americans on the site, Facebook spent a month counting up the number of singles in different cities who switched their relationship status from “Single” to “In a Relationship”. Although this study has been seen to show more about the prevalence of the traditional dating culture than what cities have the highest number of singles, you could still use these cities as perfect destinations if you are searching for a committed relationship.
Through this study, Facebook found that the majority of the cities that had the highest couple rates tended to be in the South, while the larger cosmopolitan cities had the highest percentages of single people. The bigger cities, however, had some of the lowest coupling rates, probably due to the surplus of single people not engaging in the dating culture at all.
With the coming and going of another Valentines Day, whether you find yourself on the prowl for a guy or not, Facebook gives you the perfect opportunity for finding a partner in the ‘cities of love’. Without further ado, here are the cities that made the list:
1. Colorado Springs, Colorado

3. Louisville, Kentucky
Ranked in 2010 as the 16th-most populous city in the United States, the possibility of living in a big city and still managing to find love is far greater in Louisville.
