It’s a day filled with presents, surprises, new-found friendships, sisterhood, and a feeling of home. It’s Christmas for sorority girls. It’s IUP Bid Day.

On February 2nd, IUP held its Spring 2014 Bid Day in the HUB Ohio room, where girls got to accept bids from one of the 11 National Panhellenic Sororities. After a week long process of recruitment parties, collegiettes have the honor of walking up on stage and announcing which sorority they will spend the next four years creating memories with and eventually becoming a sister to.

“This is one of the best times the spring semester for me,” said a sister of Delta Phi Epsilon. “Bid day is filled with excitement and energy and I love meeting my future sisters.”

Even if you missed recruitment parties, you may still be able to join a National Panhellenic Sorority. Some sororities are participating in Continuous Open Bidding or COB. COB is where sororities are still recruiting girls and extending bids, but on a personal basis. They will hold events where you can come out, meet the sisters, and see what their all about.

Check out @IUPGreekLife on twitter or follow the 11 National Panhellenic Sororities on Facebook for more details or to check out their upcoming events.
