The 4 Commandments of Bold Statements

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at ASU chapter.

Dearest collegiates, we’ll admit it for you: those basic, neutral colors floating around in your closet just don’t seem to be making the cut anymore. So why not be a little brave and add a pop of color to both your daytime and nighttime wardrobe? Here’s our four commandments to styling with bold pieces!

1. Neutral and Neon

Add a neon bag to any neutral-toned outfit to make a lasting impression without being too overbearing. Pair it with classic black and white for a fabulous glam look.

2. Go Big or Go Home

If wearing bright colors and toting around neon bags aren’t screaming your name, then take this baby step to being bold. Stop blending in with subtle, itty-bitty necklaces and become the center of attention with a larger-than-life chunky necklace.

Style tip: be creative! Play with different color combinations for a unique, eye-catching look!

3. In Full Bloom

You don’t have to wait until spring to let the bold bloom. Floral prints—whether on a pair of skinnies, dress, or delicate top—turn heads while maintaining sheer elegance.

4. Nailed It

Are your nails looking a little dull? Pamper your puppies with a bright color that’s perfect both in and out of the classroom. These bold colors will be sure to put your nails in the spotlight!
