5th of March, 8 o’clock, Slug and Lettuce – save the date. It’s set to be a big night.
Although tickets were sold out in minutes, those of you who did not quite get on the waiting list mustn’t despair; ‘le shack’ will be the place to be this Wednesday.
So, firstly, this term has seen a surge of fashion shows, so why choose Cuth’s?
The magic foursome are fully aware of the many fashion shows going on this term, however, they are adamant that their unconventional take on the stereotypical fashion show will set it apart. A relaxed and enjoyable feel will transpose throughout the whole evening.
The clothes (and lack of) have been carefully chosen from specific brands in order to incorporate the potential that Durham has. Outside brands, such as online lingerie store, Annette, will also be making an appearance.
Thinking outside the box, the theme of ‘a touch of pink’ in aid of Breakthrough Breast Cancer has been cleverly incorporated in their promotional video, which is nothing but professional.
Entertainment for the night will also see Troupe dancing and the debut of Durham’s Acapella Choir.
With secret goodies, an auction, copious amounts of alcohol, and gorgeous models, it really is a night not to miss.

The incredible amount of work and effort that goes into creating such an event is indisputable; an avid interest in fashion, creativity and organising are the three fundamental assets that will secure the success of the event.
Rehearsals 3 times a week with carefully coordinated walks, alongside a professional tech team actively hand picking the tunes, will create a professional and unforgettable evening. All the hard work will no doubt pay off!
On a casual Sunday afternoon, we caught up with 3 out of the 4 co-presidents of this year’s Cuth’s Fashion Show.
Anouchka Granon studies Russian and Spanish and says that from day one she always wanted to be a designer and took styling courses in Paris and London. It was the organisational and styling experience in London that inspired her to take on this challenge. Her favourite brands are based on French street-style such as Zadig and Voltaire, Sandro, Maje, The Kooples and her fashion icon, unsurprisingly, is the wonderful Olivia Palermo.
Alejandra Arias, also an international student from Columbia, studies the very fashion forward degree of archaeology and ancient civilisations! “I love the fashion aspect, and the organising part” she says, “setting events, design, putting things out there” is a way of showing how a college or group can really present itself. Her favourite store is Zara and places this on the chain system of affordability. Last season’s Dolce and Gabanna was a favourite and really brought out the ostentatious Latin American inside her!
Vilde Lien, a Norwegian student, says she is “personally extremely interested in fashion”. She studies psychology and loves the organising part of the event – she is attracted to the development and display of the event. There are so many events in Durham and it is important to show off the creative side.
Although the Fashion Show Prep started late last term, the fabulous team contribute masses, which have made their presidents exceptionally proud.
Hearing about the fashion show has made me incredibly envious of those who managed to grab a ticket. It’s set to be a fantastic evening, and I look forward to seeing you in Loveshack afterwards!
