The Collegiette’s Guide to the LBD

As a fellow collegiette, I know that sometimes we have limited funds to spend on new clothing (not to say that I don’t totally spend money I don’t have on new shoes 99% of the time…) But honestly, as busy Barnard girls, we have so many places to be that getting a new outfit for every occasion can be exhausting and unbelievably pricey. That’s why I’m a firm believer in staple pieces: items that every woman must have in her closet that can be dressed up or down and accessorized to fit any situation.

So what’s the number-one staple piece for women everywhere? The Little Black Dress. They’re super wearable, they go with anything, and nearly every woman owns one – if you don’t, you should get on that ASAP. The best LBD is one that isn’t too tight, short, or low-cut, and one in a neutral fabric (no sequins, feathers or leather), because it makes it more versatile.

Here are some examples on how to rock your LBD everywhere. It can transition to multiple occasions, based solely on how you accessorize!
