What is your major, and why did you choose it?

I am currently enrolled in the Bachelor’s of Interior Architecture program. I had originally chosen this field because of my artistic eye. I always appreciate when someone can make an ordinary space, extraordinary. After graduation, however, I will be going to grad school to get my MBA.

What’s your hometown, and what do you love about it?

My hometown is Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I love the city because of all of the unique things you can do here. I could never be a “small town girl.”

Why did you choose Chatham?

I transferred … to Chatham University, largely due to the fact that they had my major and were in my hometown of Pittsburgh. Not many universities offer a program in Interior Architecture.

If you could assign everyone at Chatham one book to read, what would it be and why?

Choosing one book is very difficult. Everyone enjoys their own type of literature. I love the work of Janet Fitch. However, I think I would recommend The Perks of Being a Wallflower to anyone looking for a uniquely written and powerful book.

What was your childhood dream job?

My childhood dream job was to be a musician. I played guitar and piano through high school.

What’s your current dream job and why?

My current dream job is to own my own record label. I love music, and I love to take charge. Currently, I am managing a few local Pittsburgh bands to get some experience under my belt. I feel as though getting my MBA will also help me greatly in achieving this goal.

Suppose you can pick any musician or band to perform at your next birthday party. Who would it be and why?

100% the Silversun Pickups! I can get into absolutely anything they have recorded. I was lucky enough to see them twice this Summer with my friend. I can’t even express the amount of talent this band has. The lyrics tell a new story every time through their unique poetics. Every song can evoke a new emotion, which only true talent can produce. You’ll never meet a cooler group of people than the Silversun Pickups.

Which TV character would you want to be your best friend?

Definitely Abby (Pauley Perrette) from NCIS. She is passionate about what she does and is very caring and loyal to those who are close to her. Let’s also not forget about that great sense of humor!

You have a friend coming to Pittsburgh for a day, and you can only take them to do one thing. What would it be?

I’d take my friend to Pittsburgh’s South Side. There is so much to do down there including the Culture Shop, Dave’s Music Mine, the Beehive, Fathead’s, and so on. There is so much to do on Pittsburgh’s South Side.

What do you love most about being a Chatham student?

Small classes. I feel like I learn so much more in a class of 20 students, than I do in a class of 50.
