Don’t Miss Out!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at DePauw chapter.

It is crazy to think about how this academic school year is coming to an end. Winter is coming to a close with warm weather approaching and Spring Break just shy of two weeks. Am I the only one that is worried about missing out on everything DePauw has to offer outside of academics? If you have this thought and want to get involved in the DePauw community, don’t fret. Here are some awesome philanthropy events and school activities to look forward to attending this spring! I highly recommend checking them out.

  1.  UPushStart: Student Government presents UPushStart event where attendees are invited to share their start-up ideas with other students who are inspired to bring their ideas to life. This event will begin April 3rd and last over the weekend. If you are a young entrepreneur this is a perfect opportunity to pitch your ideas.
  2. DePauw Dance Marathon: Benefiting Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, DePauw’s first annual Dance Marathon will take place on Saturday April 5th and the money raised will go to the Riley Children’s Foundation that serves the children and family of Indiana.
  3. Delta Gamma’s Anchor Splash: Make a splash and support Delta Gamma’s philanthropy on April 4th. Join in on fun pool events and competitions that will raise money for those visually impaired.
  4. Strut-A-Thon: Alpha Chi Omega’s Spring Philanthropy event will take place on Wednesday April 8th at 7 p.m. This philanthropy event is in support of women who have suffered from domestic violence. Join a team and participate in the race or come cheer on teams as they strut their stuff in heels as they cross the finish.
  5. Relay For Life: A walk that supports The American Cancer Society will take place at Blackstock stadium on Saturday April 26th. The goal is to help the American Cancer Society raise awareness and money to promote a world with less cancer and more birthdays. Come out to this event with friends and walk around the track in an environment full of fun activates, food and more.
  6. Little Five: This year one of DePauw’s oldest traditions since 1956 will take place on May 5th where men and women will participate in races. For the DePauw community there will also be other special events, some which might include an organized blood drive, car stuff, mud volleyball, and tomato dodge ball.
