You wake up every day and choose what clothes to wear (presumably, I mean, there is a possibility you’re reading this from a nudist colony). How would you like to get paid for doing that? That’s right, I’m talking about getting money for one of your most basic life tasks. Of course, there are a few conditions: take a picture in whatever you’re wearing, post it on some sort of media platform, and walk around in it – A LOT. If you start doing this well enough, all of your clothes will eventually turn into freebies you’ve been sent from top designers. Welcome to the life of a style blogger.

Having a style blog is quite possibly the dream platform to launch yourself into the fashion industry. Even though these women aren’t usually the creators of the pieces they wear, they’re showing the general public how to take a designer piece and make it work for everyday use. The pictures on their blogs are accompanied by links and descriptions telling everyone where to get their clothing items and what to wear them with. Here are a few examples of what style bloggers are like:

Danielle Bernstein of WeWoreWhat.com

Danielle, 21, started her blogging life when she moved from University of Wisconsin to FIT and decided to pursue fashion. Like most of the people on this list, her focus was initially on street style. Her blog started as a tribute to the many stylish habitants of New York City before she turned the focus onto herself and began posting her own outfits. Her personal style mixes classics like little black dresses and denim with vintage pieces and what’s on trend. She’s now sitting front row at Fashion Week all over the world right next to the hottest celebs and Anna Wintour. And she loves herself a good pair of overalls.

Luanna Perez of Le-Happy.com

Luanna, 23, is actually my favorite blogger. I even tried to copy her hairstyle last week because I’m so obsessed (it didn’t really work), and she follows me on Twitter!! She’s a student living in New York (originally from Peru) who focuses on street style. She effortlessly combines elements of grunge and bohemian styles to create a balanced look that is both edgy and feminine. Her essentials are definitely a black pair of creepers and anything black that looks like it’s straight out of the ‘90s.

Kelly Framel of theglamourai.com

The Glamourai is a style blog that’s been elevated to more of an online magazine format. Instead of featuring just personal outfit posts on her blog, Kelly writes about everything from beauty products to décor. She originally spent time designing jewelry and eveningwear for multiple fashion houses before deciding to start her own blog in 2008. Though she is based in Brooklyn, Kelly has more of a focus on traditional clothes – not just street style. She describes her own style as being “classically eclectic,” and specializes in personalizing vintage pieces with added DIY touches.
