Since generalizing doesn’t work, here are some things that apparently “all girls love” that, in reality, not all girls love. This list could go on forever considering everyone, you know, loves different things.
Girls love it when you compliment them ALL THE TIME
Genuine compliments are truly appreciated – they really are. But after a while, hearing someone say, “you’re so pretty!!!” every single day will only make it meaningless. And unless you want me to just not respond, don’t text me “you look beautiful :)” when you haven’t even seen me yet today. *Gag*
Girls love it when you play with their hair
I don’t care how good it feels. I just washed my hair and this wash has to last me at least five days. For the love of god, get your hands out of my hair.
Girls love cheesy romance
Don’t buy me a bouquet of roses just because you’ve seen it in movies. Please don’t write me poetry unless I’m feeling sick and all I need is to vomit. Stop pushing my hair behind my ear. It never stays. Don’t try doing the whole “no YOU hang up first” on the phone because I will do just that. Don’t learn how to say “I love you” in another language. There’s a reason I don’t speak it. NEVER, EVER EVER EVER EVER EVER, kiss me to shut me up when I’m mad. I’m MAD and I want you to know why – the rudest possible thing you can do is keep me from talking.
Girls love it when you tell them they’re beautiful without makeup
It’s a nice gesture but I spent 20 minutes perfecting my eyeshadow this morning and I looked hella cute. The SECOND I take my makeup off you’re going to tell me that I look beautiful? Nope.
Girls love to hold hands and cuddle
Yeah, it’s nice sometimes, but honestly my hands get really sweaty and I’d really much rather spread out my entire body than cuddle on a twin sized dorm room bed.
Girls love it when you remember details
I really do not care if you don’t remember that I take my coffee black or what my embarrassing nickname in high school was or what we did on our first date. If you remember something completely random, that’s awesome! You have a decent memory. If you don’t, it really doesn’t matter that much.
Girls love it when you bring them to hang out with your friends
If the only thing you’re going to do with your friends is play video games, drink cheap beers and scratch your balls, I’m not going to want to tag along only to sit bored in the corner checking Twitter every thirty seconds.
Girls love it when you sneak up behind them and hold their waist
This freaks me out. I’m a really jumpy person. Seriously, please don’t ever do this.
