It’s almost everyone’s favorite time of the semester. REGISTRATION DAY! Although registration day can be stressful, here are some tips to make your registration experience as painless as possible.

1. Meet with your advisor.Make sure to schedule a day to meet with your advisor before the last day of advising week. It is important to go over classes to make sure you are on track for graduation. Bring a list of questions you want to ask about core requirements and even future semesters.

2. Remember to have your PIN number at hand when registering.Without your PIN you cannot register. Save it in your phone so you have it at all times!

3. Be sure there are no holds on your account. If you have any type of holds on your account, you will not be able to register. Be sure to straighten out any problems before your registration date.

4.Make an ideal schedule, make a backup schedule, and make a backup to your backup. The chances of getting into all your first-choice classes are slim. In order to avoid a disaster, plan out backup schedules beforehand.

5. Don’t panic if your ideal classes are already full. This is a perfect opportunity to get some of your core classes out of the way. If classes in your major are filled, email the chair of the department. If you’re lucky, they can write you into your desired class.

6. A bad registration time is not the end of the world!Try to make the best of a bad registration time by getting ahead on core classes. You will get used to any schedule, even if it involves the dreaded 8:00 am classes.
