You’ve probably heard the party starting song”Animals” by Martin Garrix. But I’ll bet you don’t know that he’s only 17! Martin Garrix first became interested in music at the age of four after learning to play the guitar. His interested in DJ’ing started at an early age. He saw Tiesto perform at the olympic games in Athens in 2004. Soon after seeing Tiesto he downloaded software and started creating his own music! One of his early popular songs was his remix of Christinia Aguilera’s “Your Body”. It was featured on her deluxe version of her album “Lotus”. He really blew up after releasing “Animals” with Spinnin’ Records this past June. This song made him the youngest person ever to reach number one on Beatport. It was also the first instrumental song to reach thetop of the UK Single Chart since April 1999! “Animals” has since reached number one in over ten countries. He recently released a song “Helicopter” which reached the top spot on Beatport as well. He seems to have no problem creating chart-topping music. His popularity continues to grow as he plays at different festivals around the world. His music is available on iTunes and he even posts unreleased music on SoundCloud!
