Campus Celebrity: Taylor Harman

Fashion blogging is one of the most popular ways for Fashionistas to express themselves. Now imagine: you start a new life 13 hours away from home, and you meet a fellow fashion blogger from your home state.Blogging not only connects you to individuals with similar interests, but is a great way to make new friends.  Taylor Harman is a sophomore fashion marketing major at SCAD. To learn more about Taylor’s style and inspirations, check out this interview.

HC: So tell us about your blog?

TH: Hi everyone! My blog is Lights Camera Catwalk and it’s a lifestyle and fashion blog! I post outfit posts, shopping guides, and beauty tips/tutorials, and I just recently started blogging about everyday life.

HC: Who/What inspired you to start blogging?

TH: I started my blog as my senior project in high school. I needed a project that was computer based and it seemed like the best option for me! After the project was critiqued everyone stopped blogging except me! It became something I loved and am so passionate about. 

HC: Small towns like Ocean City aren’t really known for high-fashion. How did you discover your “passion for fashion”?

TH: No doubt about it, my parents. My dad was a business man and my mom went to school for modeling and fashion merchandising. I definitely get my love for fashion from my mom, but I get my entrepreneurship from my dad. Both of them taught me one thing though, and that was whatever it is I choose to do in life, do it with passion. And that’s how I find myself here today!

HC: Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

TH: In five years I hope to find myself settled down in Savannah with my own boutique. I dream of opening a store with my mom on Broughton and then later starting my own clothing line for the store. I have big dreams and I’ve even started working on the business plan for it!

SCAD

Hello! My name is Angela Kastrunes. I am a senior Fashion Marketing and Management student at SCAD. I am the founder/CC for Her Campus-SCAD. Our chapter has grown so much over the past 3 years. I'm excited to say we have expanded to the Atlanta campus, and now have over 20 members combined. It's very bittersweet to realize this is my last year, working as a CC for HC. After graduation I hope to either work in social media management, PR for a fashion brand/music label, or as an editor of a fashion magazine (or Her Campus Nationals).
