Festival-Chic Fashion

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Point Park chapter.

The hotter the sun, the less clothing we wear- that’s the truth of it all! Although trends this summer will be really cute and festival-inspired, we have to make sure that we aren’t making ourselves look like fools! The best ways to incorporate and rock the Coachella-esque vibe through your clothes during the hot weather seasons are through these tips:

Pick clothes that best suit your body. Nowadays, everyone wishes they could wear the things that Kendall and Kylie Jenner do on the daily, but realistically we all aren’t that size (If you are, we’re all jealous). Before you decide to leave the house in tight shorts and a crop top, realize that covering your stomach and not wearing booty huggers is a better call most of the time.

Wear tons of lace. Lace is always in, but it’s really flattering on EVERYONE! No matter what color, size, or shape you are, it always looks good. Try out a long, ivory lace dress with just a lavender slip underneath. Really cute lace apparel can be found at Forever 21 or H&M, but a lot of thrift shops have great finds as well!

You can never go wrong with gladiator sandals. These chic and hipster sandals come in all different colors and styles, and we really recommend the ones from gojane.com in wedge, heel, and flats options. Dress them up or dress them down- either way they’re the perfect footwear for summer!

High-waisted everything. Some believe that high-waisted shorts, pants, and skirts, don’t look good on them, but that’s completely false. The high-waist cut is totally flattering regardless of your shape, but make sure you either wear a long crop top or a bodysuit with them!

Bodysuits 4 ever. Thank goodness these are coming back into style! They’re a nice way to get away from crop tops, which are certainly not flattering or appropriate. Most times they can be paired with a cute skater skirt or boyfriends jeans, and come in a variety of styles like cut-outs and turtlenecks to name a few!
