If you’re a Rowan student involved with Communications at all – you might have heard of this week’s Campus Cutie, Tyler Mulvey! Read on to learn more about this Rowan Radio Cutie!

Name: Tyler Mulvey

Age: 22

Major/minor/concentration: Public Relations Major. Double Minor in Advertising and Journalism. Concentration on Radio/TV/Film

Clubs/organizations that you’re involved in: I’m the General Manager of PRSSA, I’m involved with the Rowan Television Network and a member of Rowan Radio.

What you look for in a significant other: A significant other should be your best friend. Someone you can hang out with and not care what you’re doing. Whether you’re watching paint dry or sitting front row at a concert, you’re happy just to be with them.

The best food you’ve ever eaten: I love my mom’s rice pudding. I’m also a big fan of the cafeteria food. No shame.

Advice you would give to incoming freshman: Get involved. It doesn’t matter how cool you were in high school- making friends in college is different. Join an organization with kids who have similar interests and talk to everybody. You’re all in the same boat. Just ask everyone what they’re doing that weekend.

What are your goals post-graduation: Get a job? I don’t know. I should probably have a really good answer for this but I don’t. Pay off student loans. That’s a good goal.

I’ve heard about your internship at the Elvis Duran Show, how awesome was that experience, and what did you learn from it: That experience was VERY awesome. I learned that if you have a dream, don’t lose sight of it. I wanted to do radio since I was 11 years old BECAUSE of Elvis Duran in the Morning Show. Being able to work on the show and ultimately be a part of it was a dream come true. It’s all about who you know, so talk to everybody. If I had never sat next to Carla Marie’s sister on a flight to San Francisco, that opportunity may have never come to fruition. Luck is preparation meeting opportunity.

Describe your perfect day: The Man in Black said it best. “This morning, with her, having coffee.”

Hobbies: I love radio. And I love music. That’s why I started this blog, “Meet the Music Monday. Every Monday I interview up and coming artists. You should check it out. It’s a lot of fun!
