Her Campus: Why did you decide to be an OWL?Carson Merine: I decided to become an OWL because I enjoy helping people and love having the ability to start new freshman students off on the right path.
HC: Why should students become active in the clubs on campus?CM: College is not simply about just getting a degree. The piece of paper that you work so hard for shows that you’re capable of passing classes, but the experience and different skill sets acquired by being involved is what makes your degree valuable.
HC: What has been your favorite college experience?CM: To me college in its entirety has been one of the greatest experiences I’ve had. From networking with successful people to enhancing my skill sets and making connections with wonderful people on campus, I have learned a lot, gained a lot, and have been able to establish some friendships that are invaluable.
HC: What do you want to do when you graduate?CM: I want to attend law school while pursuing my dreams of becoming a successful entrepreneur so that I may be able to generate enough income to change and better the lives of my family in the United States and in Haiti.Â
