This week, HerCampus UCI presents to you our Disney themed music playlist. There is just something magical about Disney songs that just brings out the wide-eyed, carefree, and happy kid out of us that we sometimes forget we have. And let’s be honest, when you hear a Disney song you know, it’s hard not to sing along! Here are a few of my favorites to listen to when I need inspiration, or a pick-me-up. Have fun singing along!

#Throwback to the days when we used to watch shows like “That’s So Raven,” “Phil of the Future” and “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.” This song is a great reminder that you shouldn’t wait to go after what you are passionate about. Time waits for no one, and if there are opportunities that will help you further excel toward your goals and find the confidence within yourself to take a leap and learn from it. If you feel like you are good enough for a position at an office, or to be in a choir, show it, you do not have to wait for someone to tell you that you are good enough to do something. Follow the Nike motto, “Just Do It.”

Doesn’t this song make you want to go on an adventure and explore? Or even meet new people? There are seven billion people in this world, each with their own story to share and a lesson to teach. The next time you sit next to a stranger in class or on a bus, put your phone away, and strike up a conversation. Who knows what could go on from there!

When you look in the mirror, be proud of who you are. If you’re not, maybe it’s time to look back at your priorities, and make sure that happiness is on the top of the list. Yes, it’s difficult to be our complete self when society expects us to act or think a certain way, but like Oscar Wilde said, “Be yourself, because everyone else is already taken”. My favorite part of this video is when she wipes her make-up off because it signifies that she finally accepts who she is, and not what her family wants her to be. Ladies, here are the top six things that will make you more beautiful than make-up ever can: being independent, having passions, being compassionate, keeping an open and fun-spirited mind, being persistent during times of despair, and being honest with yourself.

That butterfly feeling you get when you have a new “crush,” that idiot smile you wear on your face when you’re texting them, the way your voice gets softer when you speak to that person, and how everyone knows whom you’re daydreaming about… yeah, this song pretty much sums it up.

Yes, the lyrics that we never seem to get right, but the song we absolutely love. The circle of life definitely has its ups, downs, twists, and turns, but that is why you have to be ready to conquer any obstacles that come your way. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Even if it doesn’t make sense right now, you will see later on that every little thing brought you something or somewhere wonderful. Like Dalai Lama said, “Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck”. Just have fun, and enjoy the ride!

A beautiful day begins with a beautiful mind. Waking up to this song will do the trick because it gives off such a good energy. It’s also a great reminder to count your blessings and take a moment to think about how great it is to be alive and healthy.

If you want to go for something, nothing is holding you back but yourself. If people are telling you that you can’t do something, that is more of a reflection of their limitation, not yours. Be the best person that you can be.
