“It is ever so much easier to be good if your clothes are fashionable.” –L.M Montgomery

There is something about clothing that can boost your self-esteem and confidence. The right pair of shoes can put some spring in your step and the right accessory can tie together an outfit. While South Bend may not be the fashion capital of the world, it’s fair to say that most of us at Notre Dame enjoy being well-dressed. I’m all for having lazy days and throwing on my favorite sweatshirt, but sometimes keeping it classy makes getting through class a little more bearable.

Personally, I like my clothes to be unique. The best way to ensure this is to shop at small boutiques. It makes the shopping experience more rewarding when you find a piece that you can’t find in the mall. You never know what you’ll discover when you step into a boutique and the possibilities are endless! Here, I’ve complied a list of my favorite boutiques to check out the next time you’re out shopping in the greater South Bend, Indiana area!

To find that perfect outfit, the first place I head to is Sorella Boutique. Located in Heritage Square in Granger, this boutique offers a wide variety of brands including Citizens of Humanity, Hudson, Rock Revival, and Vera Bradley. Their selection of designer denim is amazing. Every time I go, I end up leaving with some sort of dress. They are cute and reasonably priced, so it’s too hard to pass up, especially with such a wide selection. For more information check out their website.

The next store I hit up is Flourish Boutique, also in Granger. They recently moved to a bigger store, which means they have more merchandise! They also started carrying a few items from Free People (I’m swooning). Be prepared for lots of bright colors and tons of pink! I don’t think it could get any girlier. Another plus is that it is located next to one of the cutest cupcake bakeries I’ve ever seen. Does it get any better than shopping and cupcakes? I could spend hours in there. They also have the best sales, which tend to change daily. If you can’t make it to the store, it is possible to order online and through Facebook. Stay up to date with new arrivals and giveaways on their Instagram account.

While you’re still in Granger, check out Steam Couture, which opened just a few months ago. I have not had the chance to shop there yet, but their Facebook page looks promising. Their products seem to be a little bit more bohemian and edgier than the other boutiques around. From what I have seen online, I am reminded of AllSaints. They carry Siwi and Mavi jeans as well as a wide variety of tops, shorts, dresses, skirts, and leather bags. Steam Couture plans on eventually adding a smaller selection of men’s clothing. Can’t wait to check it out!

Inspire Me is another great shopping stop. Located in South Bend, this boutique offers brands such as Brighton, Free People, BB Dakota, and many more. Inspire Me has more than twenty years of fashion experience and a wide variety of products. It was voted as South Bend Tribunes Readers Choice for “Most Favorite Women’s Boutique” and they update their merchandise almost daily. To see new items or even to order pieces, check out their website.

Happy Shopping!

Hey everyone! I love to write and cry over episodes of One Tree Hill (don't judge). My favorite things to write about are fashion and music. I am definitely an animal and plant lover. I'm a South Bend native so in a way, Notre Dame has always been a part of my home.
