With the summer months coming to an end and the chilly fall weather just about to set in, it can be easy to let the carefree mentality of summer slip away. Gone are the days of tanning, traveling and virtually no worries. But the fun of summer doesn’t have to be completely gone, and what better way to channel the freedom of June and July than a rocking concert?

Here’s a look at what’s going on at Legends this month – App’s own “nightclub and social center.”

September 3:  Comedy Night with J Bliss and Kevin Alderman

Okay, so this isn’t exactly a concert, but a night full of laughter is a great break from the stress of school. Plus – tickets are only $1! Comedians J Bliss and Kevin Alderman are teaming up for this one, and it should definitely be a night to remember. J Bliss is known for his shows all up and down the East Coast, while Kevin Alderman is known for his surprise twists to jokes and connection with the crowd.

Doors open at 9 p.m., so grab your friends and be prepared to laugh the night away (ha ha ha).

September 10:  Bafoodus

Just a week after J Bliss and Kevin Alderman, Boone’s own Bafoodus will hit the stage at Legends. The band, which only plays in Boone, will start the show after the doors open at 9 p.m. Known for their eccentric taste and variety from funk to rock, jazz and even a little pop, there’s sure to be a song or two for just about everyone. Tickets are $5 in advance for ASU students, and $7 at the door or for guests.

September 12: Contra Dance featuring Warren Doyle and the Ivory Boys

Alright, another one that’s not technically a concert, but if a night full of dancing and good music doesn’t get rid of your summer blues then I don’t know what will! Grab a partner, put on your dancing shoes and come ready to master the art of Contra – a sort of folk line/partner dance that is SO much fun.

The door’s open at 7 p.m., and the dance starts at 7:30. Don’t forget to purchase your tickets in advance for $3, or at the door for $5! Happy dancing!

September 25: The Foxfire

Like the Avett Brothers, Kings of Leon or Creedence Clearwater Revival? Well then this is the show for you. After almost a two week break, The Foxfire will wrap up the month of September with their performance on the 25th. The three piece folk band from Brevard, NC prides themselves on their mixture of traditional bluegrass with a not-so-traditional performance full of energy and crowd interaction.

Be sure to catch the high school best friends while they’re in Boone by purchasing $5 tickets in advance or $7 at the door. Doors open at 9 p.m.

September 26:  Cherub

What better way to end the month than with what’s sure to be a crazy night with the always good electro-pop duo Cherub. The two guys have combined their love for music and people to make music that reminds audiences of “artists like Prince, Zapp and Roger, and more contemporary Justin Timberlake.” The group’s fresh, pop-fusion beats will definitely have you reminiscing on old summer nights cruising with the windows down.

The tickets are currently sold out, but if you haven’t gotten tickets don’t fret! Check Craigslist or the App State Facebook page for any last minute, unwanted tickets that you can grab. Doors open at 9 p.m. – this is one you don’t wanna miss!
