For years, Fairfield University students have been practically begging for a country concert, and for years they have felt like they haven’t been heard. We all crave country music once we realize that the summer is winding down and we try to hold on to what’s left of it. What pairs more perfectly with a sunny day than cutoffs and southern beats? Contrary to past disappointment, the country prayers have been answered and the summer will stay alive a little bit longer. Love and Theft, one of the hottest country bands around, will be coming to campus on October 18th, and the hype is undeniable.
The initial ticket sales have been outstanding and students are able to utilize a combo deal through the end of the day. The combo discount is given to students that purchase their Love and Theft ticket and Pres Ball ticket at the same time. This deal will be offered today for $40 at Fresh Check Day in the quad from 12-3! Students can still purchase tickets at regular price after this; so don’t worry if you can’t make it.
About Love and Theft:Love and Theft is a huge name in the music industry, even serving as the opening act for Taylor Swift’s Fearless tour. Taylor’s song, “Hey Stephen,” was actually written about Stephen Barker Liles, one of the two Love and Theft members. Liles also helped to write the Country Strong soundtrack, which featured major stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Leighton Meester. Along with Liles, Eric Gunderson also serves as a lead singer and guitarist. Unfortunately for us, ladies, both Eric and Stephen are both married, but nonetheless great eye candy.
