3 Campus Resources You Didn’t Know Existed

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Utah chapter.

The University of Utah has so many resources available to students on campus. We at Her Campus Utah want to make sure you’re informed about the ones you probably didn’t know existed!

ASUU Tutoring Center

Need a little extra help in that killer course without breaking the bank? The ASUU Tutoring Center provides both private and group tutoring at university regulated hourly rates ($7 private/ $4 group.)  This cost is consistently low to any currently enrolled University of Utah student through the efforts of our awesome student government, the Associated Students of the University of Utah (ASUU). The ASUU tutors have a wide range of subject knowledge as well as flexible scheduling—including booking availabilities on the weekends and in the evenings at the location of your choice. Finally, a way to calm that soaring stress and keep that wallet fat!

For information and scheduling, call 801-581-5153, visit the ASUU Tutoring Center in Rm. 330 SSB, or visit http://tutoringcenter.utah.edu/

Outdoor Recreation Center

The U’s Outdoor Recreation Center (ORC) offers everything you need to get out and explore our amazing surroundings both on campus and beyond! Equipped with the largest collegiate rental shop in the nation, the ORC provides students with head-to-toe outdoor gear—offering everything you would need for nearly any outdoor excursion; from boats, bikes, climbing gear, tents and sleeping bags, to skis, snowshoes, and snow pants. Furthermore, organized trips are frequently planned through the ORC for students to be lead through adventures such as Southern Utah canyoneering, whitewater rafting through Cataract Canyon, and stand up paddle boarding in Flaming Gorge. Trips are affordable at around $65 to $75 plus tax, and gear is included. Now, no excuses—get out and explore!
