Samantha Gates: Vice President
Q: What is your major? What do you plan on doing in the future with the major you’re studying?A: I’m an acting major and my goal is to be on broadway. I love musicals and having live audiences! Eventually I’d also like to teach.
Q: What activities do you take part in and do you have any leadership positions on campus?A: Currently I’m only involved in HerCampus, in which I am the Vice President, but I’d like to get more educated on the other clubs around campus!
Q: What do you love about Adelphi? What’s your favorite part of campus? A: I love how diverse the people are here. I feel like when you go to a certain campus, you tend to find the same kind of people. I feel like Adelphi has a great mix of nice people. Also, I live twenty minutes away, but I still dorm, and I love that I can be so close to home and yet I don’t really feel like I’m on Long Island. My favorite part of campus would definitely have to be the landscaping. All of the trees and flowers are absolutely stunning. Even in the winter its beautiful covered in snow. This campus has such a great positive energy, its a perfect place to create and grow.

Q: What is your major? What do you plan on doing in the future w/ the major you’re studying?A: I am an English major with a concentration in creative writing. The dream is to write a play, or a novel, or both!
Q: What activities do you take part in and do you have any leadership positions on campus?A: Oh goodness I’ve got a laundry list, I love being involved on campus. I’m the VP of Mosaic, Secretary of NRHH, Off-Campus chair for SAB, Editor for Hercampus (woo!), and a member of ASTEP, Hall Council, and Newman club.
Q: What do you love about Adelphi? What’s your favorite part of campus?
A: I love how easy it is to be involved on campus, and the fact that we’re a small enough school that there are people I’ve made friends with just because we see each other all the time in passing.
