Meet this week’s Campus Celebrity, Sandra Santana! This panther colliegette is a proud sister of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority and is deeply involved with campus organizations. Read more about Sandra below!

Age: 21

Major: Psychology & Hospitality Management

Year: Senior

What are you involved in on campus?I was a 2014 Rho Gamma for the Panhellenic Council.  I am currently on the Dance Marathon 2014 committee and am the Media and Community Relations Chair Sister of Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.

Why did you join a sorority?I joined a sorority to form bonds with women that would push and help me to do better. I also wanted to grow as an individual and a young woman. To be quite honest, without the help of my sisters I wouldn’t be where I am today. I am constantly being pushed to go above and beyond the standard and I have come out of my shell.

What are your plans for after graduation?I am into electronic music and I have had the privilege of meeting multiple DJs in the past year. With that being said, I realized that my creative bubble is waiting to burst open. I want to take my talents into festival production to create a magical experience for others. I’m going to continue and get my masters in hospitality management and then hopefully move to California.

Most memorable moment at FIU:I can’t exactly mention one moment, because FIU has given way more than I could have ever asked for. Among some of the most memorable is my freshman year when I was part of colorguard. My first performance was in front of a crowd of over 20,000 people. Getting 2012 Peer Advisor was another great moment. I remember shaking in the pit just waiting to hear my name called. Last but not least, getting my little sisters has been an honor. They bring so much joy to my life and I am so glad that their families have taken me in as their own daughter.
