BarDot is the newest hangout to hit former number one party school, University of Iowa’s bar scene in 2014. Named after timeless icon Brigitte Bardot, the bar features a fresh experience for college students. When first walking in to the new bar I was hit with an ambiance of Brooklyn meets the Big 10. The bar heats ups the scene by providing a menu containing Caribbean style drinks. The bar used recycled goods such as old barn wood and retired Hawaiian airline seats to create this industrial look. Most Iowa City bars are predominately sports bars with little personality, but Bardot fills the missing gap in this college town. While the bar goes against the grain it still has the sporty college touch every bar in this city needs to stay afloat. So next time you and your friends are thinking of meeting for happy hour, try out the now hippest bar at the university of iowa. Did we mention the massive margaritas they feature?
