5 Things to Bake To Satisfy Your Fall Sweet Tooth

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Georgetown chapter.

As the weather gets colder and classes get harder, it’s good to remember what’s really important—baked goods.  Fall is the perfect time to experiment with new flavors and new recipes.  Here are five fall treats you can make in your dorm.

Simple banana bread

Banana bread is a classic for obvious reasons—it’s delicious and relatively healthy (fruit is involved).  It’s also a great choice because it doesn’t require a lot of hard-to-find ingredients.  You can probably even get the bananas from your dining hall.  It’s great to bake and share with your friends or to bring to a study session.

Nutella mug cake

If you don’t have an oven available, mug cakes are a perfect option.  They require minimal prep time and very little clean up.  Plus, they’re the perfect serving if you don’t want to share.  This one is extremely simple, and it’s even easier if you don’t make the topping yourself.

Frosted pumpkin cookies

As everyone knows, pumpkin is the flavor of the season.  To go with your pumpkin spice latte, try these simple cookies.  Again, the recipe gets even easier if you buy the frosting yourself.

S’mores mug cake

If you’re too cold to make your s’mores around a campfire, this mug cake is a great alternative.   Plus, it only takes five minutes to make.

Cranberry chai cupcakes

These require a little more work than a mug cake, but the result is a great fall dessert with the perfect amount of sweetness.  Whether you’re bringing them to Thanksgiving dinner or just baking them in your common room, these cupcakes are sure to be popular.
