11 Things To Do Over Fall Break

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Arkansas chapter.

1. Do a fall photo shoot. Grab a camera and some friends, go to a field with some props or somewhere with a pretty fall background, and take cute fall pictures!

2. Visit a pumpkin patch. There are a lot of pumpkin patches around Fayetteville if you’re staying in town for fall break. Farmland Adventures and Bullwick farms are two great ones!

3. Have a pumpkin carving party. Gather some friends and host a pumpkin carving party. This is a great way to gather new and old friends together and make memories.

4. Make a holiday wreath. We have all seen those extravagant crafty wreaths on Pinterest and even some that your friends have made. Hobby Lobby has everything you need to make one. If you don’t know how to make one, Pinterest and YouTube have several sources. This is one that I made last Christmas.

5. Go on a weekend getaway. There are several options for weekend getaways! Eureka Springs, Buffalo River Cabins, and Hot Springs are great places to go to if you want to stay in Arkansas. Branson, Missouri is only an hour and a half north of Fayetteville and has tons of fun things to do too. If you’re on a budget, just go camping with some friends!

6. Paint a canvas. If you’re like me, there are tons of things that you want to paint to hang in your apartment, but not enough time. Take this time to paint something that you can be proud of! I painted this Lilly-inspired painting at painting with a twist.

7. Try something new. You have a few extra days to do whatever you want, so why not try something new? Whether it’s starting a new hobby like photography or cooking, just try it!

8. Go on a hike or bike ride. Being active is a great  way to relieve stress and feel great about yourself. Now is a great time to start that new work out routine you have been saying you will start ‘tomorrow.’

9. Visit friends and family. Being in college can take up so much time in our lives that we hardly have time to visit our old friends and family. Make it a point to spend time with your loved ones during fall break.

10. Read a book. We are often so busy that we hardly have time to read something we actually enjoy. Pick up that book you have been dying to read, sit down, and relax.

11. Be productive. Use this free time to catch up on your homework or study for an upcoming test. Clean your apartment or do your laundry. Whatever you do, be productive so that you are not overloaded with chores after fall break.
