Being a transfer student from UNCW, how would you describe your transition to UVa?

I was so nervous before coming to grounds this year as a second year transfer. I felt like a freshman all over again. I was scared I wouldn’t make friends because most people would already have their friend groups from last year. Those nervous feelings vanished on move in day though. I made friends so easily and everyone was so welcoming. I held genuine conversations with so many people. Many offered to give me tours of grounds or map out my classes for me. I appreciated all of the transfer specific events that were put on. And now, even six or so weeks later, I feel so at home. I’ve gotten into the groove of my classes, gotten involved in clubs, and my love for the University grows everyday. I’m proud to be a wahoo.

How would you describe your personal style?

I tend to be more classic and preppy. I love my shep shirts, oxfords with pearls, and chino pants, but there’s also a side of me that loves an old, baggy grey hoodie that I can curl up in and watch Netflix.

What is your favorite piece of clothing for the fall season?

I love cable knit fisherman sweaters! They’re great to wear with an Oxford underneath or with a scarf and boots. They’re just as comfy and warm as anyone’s favorite hoodie but way more stylish.
