Meet Campus Celebrity of the Week: Sophie Reiter! 

Sophie is a proud member of the A&M Equestrian team. She’s not from Texas, she’s a Jersey girl. Born and raised in New Jersey and all of her family lives there! She’s been riding horses ever since she can remember and she hopes to work as a publicist one day!

HC: If you could describe yourself in three words what would they be?

SR: social, athletic, perfectionist.

HC: Do you have any weird habits or talents?

SR: I like to think I sound like Beyoncé in the shower, not sure if my roommates agree. I also can breakdance and I do killer impersonations… which I guess are pretty weird talents. 

HC: Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 10?

SR: In 5 years I hope to be working in PR for ESPN or for the music industry! In 10 years I want to have established myself working as well as be married with a family!

HC: What are you most proud of?

SR: I am probably the most proud of my riding accomplishments. I was #1 in the country for the division I compete in at one point, and I finished #1 in New Jersey 3 years in a row. I competed in many national finals and was top 10 in one of them! I also made the athletic honor role list last year as a freshman.

HC: In your eyes what’s the greatest thing about attending Texas A&M?

SR: The traditions for sure. From midnight yell, to muster, to everyone coming together on Tuesdays for Breakaway, the community and traditions here are amazing.

HC: Celebrity crush?

SR: Hands down Ryan Gosling!!

HC: What’s one thing you want to do before you die?

SR: I really want to go to Africa and help build a school! I also want to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, it seems pretty cool.

HC: What do you value most in life?

SR: My family and God

HC: Who is your hero/person you look up to and why?

SR: Aside from my amazing mom Abbie, who is the most giving, humble, and charitable woman I know, my learning assistant Alicia. She’s the world’s biggest rock star and keeps me sane 99% of the time.

HC: What’s one thing that you would change about the world?

SR: Animal abuse.

HC: What was your first thought when you woke up this morning?

SR: Well I woke up at 5:50 for workouts so my first thought was “where’s the snooze button”.

HC: If you could only have one meal for this rest of your life what would it be?

SR: ITALIAN!! From cannoli’s to sausage and peppers anything Italian.

HC: What’s your favorite song? artist? movie?

SR: I’m a huge Drake fan, anything from NWTS or Take Care, or Beyoncé’s Love on Top! Movie wise, definitely Friday Night Lights.

HC: What’s one invention that you look forward to having in the future?

SR: An iPhone that is Sophie-proof. I’ve gone through 7…. And counting.

SR: Summer

SR: With fame comes money so definitely fame.
