Meet Cutie Adam Clegg!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at BC chapter.

Meet Campus Cutie Adam Clegg, a multi-talented senior with a charming smile, a great sense of humor and an amazing personality to match. As a poet, dancer, skilled cook, and soulful singer, I’m pretty sure there’s nothing he can’t do.

The Basics

Name: Adam Clegg

Hometown: West Islip, New York

School/Year: A&S 2015

Major: English & Psychology

BC Life

Activities/Clubs: UPrising (4th year), B.E.A.T.S (only R&B/Soul a cappella group on campus), BC Slam!, Student Brand Management Vita Coco

Favorite place to study: Starbucks

Favorite hangout spot on campus: Hillside

What has been your most defining moment at BC? I came back my junior year and had lost 115 lbs from my freshman year so finally coming into my own was a big defining moment for me at BC.

What are you most proud of? I’m proud of the growth of UPrising as a dance team because it really started my freshmen year and I grew up with it. (Side note: the UP in UPrising stands for Unifying Project)

Favorite BC Superfan outing: I love the football games. I live in the Mods so the tailgates are everything.

UPrising life

O’Connell Dance studio or Brighton? Brighton, 10 times out of 10.

Most memorable/embarrassing performance: Oh man, there are many. Most memorable performance was winning showdown my freshman year. Most embarrassing moment was rehearsing for Arts Fest – I ripped my pants on stage while doing a split.

What makes UP unique compared to other dance teams on campus?

Our incorporation of so many different styles. Also pretty much everyone on the teams choreographs. Everyone has an outlet where they can express themselves and incorporate their own styles.

What is the most rewarding part about being on UP?

The people are a blessing. In addition, the bonds you form with people you might not have had the chance to speak to otherwise and watching people improve and be happy with the results of a performance.

Love Life

Single or taken: Single

Ideal significant other: Someone who can laugh at my dumbest jokes, who loves food, who has quick wit, and is goal oriented.

Ideal date: It would probably involve me cooking some Italian dinner and having a really awesome conversation with the person.

Celeb crush:  Penelope Cruz is definitely up there. Sorry Javier.

Deal breakers: Someone who can’t hold a conversation or takes things way too seriously.

Extras

Biggest pet peeve: Not following through with plans, in a word flakiness – it drives me nuts. Also sunglasses inside. What?

One thing that few people know about you: I have a very discerning nose. I can tell what someone’s cooking and what fragrance someone is wearing.

Dream job: Essentially be Justin Timberlake. If I could sing and perform for people, own my own restaurant one day, own Esquire magazine—basically be Justin Timberlake.

If you could go anywhere in the world, where would it be and why? Probably back to Italy because I love everything about it.

What would you do if you knew you couldn’t fail? I’d open up my own restaurant, write poetry or sing full time. In other words, if I had unlimited wealth I would pursue my passions.

Advice to freshmen: Don’t fear rejection – embrace it. Do something on campus that makes you want to be a better version of yourself.

Be sure to check out Adam and the rest of UPrising at their first competition, World Of Dance, this Sunday November 2nd! Click here for details.

With killer new routines up their sleeves, UP’s performance will be something you don’t want to miss.
