It seems like just yesterday we were all giddy about our awesome princess costume and ready to go out trick-or-treating with our friends, but things have definitely changed since then. College seems to have a whole new definition of Halloween night. With October 31st falling on a Friday, college students are gearing up for a night of outrageous festivities. But if you’re not up for the craziness of Hallows Eve, here are 3 last minute ideas of things you can do with your friends to ensure that your night won’t just spent bored in your dorm room:
1. Scary/Halloween movies and junk food
Here is one option that you can’t go wrong with. Whether you’re watching TV or Netflix, there are plenty of great movies. Here is a list movies that you can never go wrong with on Halloween:
Scary Movies:
Nightmare on Elm Street
Halloween trilogy
The Exorcist
The Conjuring
Scream
Halloween Movies:
Hocus Pocus
Halloween Town
Ghost Busters
Harry Potter trilogy
And you can’t watch a movie without your favorite snacks! Don’t be afraid to dive in to your favorite treats and to splurge on pizza, popcorn and of course CANDY! It is Halloween anyway!
2. Trick-or-Treating
No you are NOT too old to go trick-or-treating. No one is too old for free candy! That would be a sick a twisted world we lived in if there was an age limit for that. If you know of a nice neighborhood nearby, put on a last minute costume grab a clean pillow case and head out on the town! Stay safe out there, kids.

3. Baking
Test your creativity and baking skills with some tasty treats that can be fun and easy to make.
Halloween Candy Pizza
This is not your ordinary pizza. Substitute the cheese and sauce for some sweet treats all on one cookie!
Ingredients
- roll (16.5 oz) Pillsbury™ refrigerated sugar cookies
- 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1 cup candy corn
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or raisins
- 1/4 cup vanilla ready-to-spread frosting (from 1-lb can)
Step 1
Heat oven to 350°F. Line 12-inch pizza pan with foil; grease foil with shortening. Cut cookie dough into 1/4-inch-thick slices; arrange in pan. With floured fingers, press slices to form crust.
Step 2
Bake 15 to 20 minutes or until deep golden brown. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.
Step 3
Use foil to lift crust from pan. Carefully remove foil from crust; place crust on serving platter or tray. Spread peanut butter over crust. Sprinkle candy corn and raisins evenly over top.
Step 4
In small microwavable bowl, microwave frosting on High 10 to 15 seconds or until thin and drizzling consistency. Drizzle frosting over cookie pizza. Cut into wedges or squares.
Halloween Popcorn/Candy Bowl
This is one of my all-time favorite Halloween treats! It’s delicious and it’s as easy to make as it looks.
What you will need:
Popcorn
1 bag of M&M’s
Candy corn
And any other candy that you want to add. Be creative!
Once you have all your ingredients there is just one thing to do…. Mix it up!
Halloween isn’t all about the partying. Think outside the box and find fun things to do with your friends. After all, anything is possible on Halloween. Have fun this Hallows Eve and remember, STAY SAFE!
