In a little over two weeks, we all be leaving Quinnipiac to return home for Thanksgiving. Â As Thanksgiving break approaches faster and faster, here are five reasons to look forward and get excited:
1. Â You get to sleep in your own bed.
As much as we all love having a roommate to share our late night thoughts with and although we’ll miss hearing every single noise that is outside of our buildings, nothing beats being home and sleeping in the comfort of your own room and bed…and not having to worry about being woken up.
2.  You get a break from the café and get to have some home-cooked meals.
I know we all are such a huge fans of the café and The Rat (sarcasm here), but the best thing about going home for break is being able to have your favorite meals, or eat at your favorite restaurants, and, of course, going into a food coma from all that yummy turkey you will have on Thanksgiving!
3. Â You get to see your family and friends.
Being away at school means that you don’t get to see your family or friends as much as you would like to, but being on break means you get just the right amount of time to catch up with everyone.
4. Â You get a whole week off.
Unlike other schools, we are lucky enough to have a whole week off for Thanksgiving to not worry about school (hopefully) and to just relax and enjoy being home. Â While our friends will be rushing home and then gone in a flash, we will have enough time to enjoy our hometowns or week-long getaways.
5. Â You will, with any luck, get a break from schoolwork and studying.
I’m sure I can speak for a lot of QU students when I say that I just want to not worry about schoolwork and what has to be done when I’m home for Thanksgiving break.  That being said, “May the odds be ever in our favor” the next few weeks when it comes to getting assigned homework.
Break is going to be here before we know it, so keep pushing through and start looking forward to being home, surrounded by food, friends and family!
