What’s in the Bag?

The latest fad in beauty is a personalized shipment of sample size beauty products. Whether it’s IPSY or BIRCH BOX, there are several options out there for makeup fanatics. Since I am one of these crazed girls who wants the latest eyeliner and lipstick shade, I decided to give IPSY a try. There are several rumors that IPSY is far more personalized than BIRCH BOX, and the makeup bags are really cute. I wanted to test these rumors and try to give people a look at what you get out of the $10/per month.

1. The bag was really cute. 

 It is true. The IPSY bag was a great size for a travel makeup bag and it was really cute. It was not cheaply made and I love the color.  

2. It kind of sucks how long you have to wait for it. 

I didn’t appreciate getting charged for the bag the first of the month and then having to wait until the 20th of that month to actually get the bag. This is not just IPSY though as I came to find out, most of these companies go about shipping the same way. 

3. They put good size samples in the bag. 

I got a full size nail polish and eyeliner which was pretty shocking. There were definitely small samples in the bag, but I have to say that all the good stuff was pretty big. 

4. My bag was different/personalized. 

One of my suite mates also decided to partake in the IPSY experience and when we got our bags we had to compare and contrast. I got more eye products which is something I specified on the quiz to join. As a result I got a really nice eyeliner. I think that makes me the winner! 

5. The prices of the samples exceeded the cost of the service.

The service is only $10/per month and the total price of my samples was close to $30. I was really happy with the investment. I was able to use the rest of my money to buy a burrito. It was a good day. 

6. I can cancel it at any point. 

It may hurt the company’s feelings when you cancel the subscription, but if I’m not satisfied with my bag, I am glad I can cancel it at anytime. Never make a commitment if you don’t have to! 

Overall I was really pleased with what I got for my $10. I got a brand new make up bag and some really nice makeup and nail polish. I would have to recommend this to anyone looking to expand their make up horizons.
