Something that everyone loves to do during Halloween is carve pumpkins into our favorite designs or characters. But what do we do with them after Halloween is over? Here are a few ideas to not waste your pumpkin and get even more creative!
Vase
Since the top of your pumpkin is already cut off, take a jar and fill it with soil and a little water, then plant your favorite flower inside of it.
Candle Holder
If you have a smaller pumpkin, make it a holder for your candles. Rest tea candle glass holders in the top and use it to light up your room on a dark night.
Bird Feeder
If you’re an animal lover, fill your pumpkin with bird seeds and let it serve as a feeder. Then, when it starts to get soft, compost it or refill it with seeds and throw it into the woods for more animals.
Roast Seeds
If you’re a big fan of its flavor, roast your own pumpkin seeds. Rinse them, pat them dry and place them flat on a cookie sheet. Then, spray with pure olive oil and sprinkle them with sea salt. Finally, bake at 375˚ F until they’re brown and toasty. It’s a perfect little snack for lunches.
Pumpkin Patch
If you have a lot of grass space to grow them, create your own little pumpkin patch next year! Pumpkin seeds are easy to grow just about anywhere. So then next year, you can just pick them from your own garden.
I hope everyone had a happy Halloween and that you can still enjoy your carved pumpkins!
