This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Point Park chapter and does not reflect the views of Her Campus.

Her Campus Point Park addresses sexual assault and violence this week, Nov. 9 – 15. This video was a quick survey of Point Park students to see if they had been educated on sexual assault, if they thought it was common, if they knew anyone who had been assaulted, and if that person reported the incident. Finally, we asked them what do they think could be done to reduce the number of sexual assaults.

We did this survey to see how peers felt about the subject, not to gain any data about sexual assault. We understand this is a sensitive topic for many people and we want this week to bring awareness to how often it occurs.

Please refer to Jake Owens’ article on hotlines to call and Rebekah Mohrman’s article to see the signs of an abusive relationship. Be sure to read the content posted this week to get yourself educated on sexual assault if you’re not!
