Meet Taylor Davies, a second year business student in the Gustavson School of Business here at UVic. Originally from Vancouver, Taylor made the decision to attend UVic because of its renowned business program and the picturesque views on campus. In high school, Taylor played competitive lacrosse while he also developed his interest for business. Here, he has continued his active lifestyle, finding time to play ball hockey and other sports with his friends.
Taylor currently holds the position of Second Year Representative in the Commerce Students’ Society and is very involved within the business school. His innate leadership abilities and passion for connecting with others, both personally and professionally, helped him land this esteemed role. Connecting the first and second year pre-admit business students through organized events is just one of the many responsibilities Taylor holds. It’s his goal to provide them with lasting memories and opportunities for them to connect. He achieves this by managing the pre-admit council. He acts as a team player and helps create an atmosphere where creativity and ideas are encouraged. Incredibly thankful for those within the council, he knows that it’s the entire team’s effort and energy that make their events a success. Loving his current position, he has come to learn that, “there are no cons to being a part of a group, a team, or a friendship. It is simple, the Gustavson CSS means instant friends, connections, and experiences you will never forget.” There are several CSS events in November and Taylor encourages all business students to check out their website to see what’s happening in each month.
Interested in pursuing his business degree with a specialization in International Business, Taylor likes the idea of attending law school after graduation.
Upon first appearance one can’t really tell but Taylor is in fact a bit of a clean freak. That’s nothing to worry about though because he loves jumping right into things and getting his hands dirty!
Taylor is always friendly and approachable so if you ever see him on campus, be sure to give him a wave!
