The one and only Kovu is this week’s campus celebrity. For all you avid animal lovers, dogs are just as equal as human’s right? You know you know him. He’s campus’ most known dog!
Everything about Kovu is unique, including his name, which is inspired by a character from the Lion King 2. Kuvo’s sibiling, a cat, has the name of Mufasa, staying within his owner’s favorite Disney movie. Kovu is a miniature Australian Shepherd with bright blue eyes and one eye being half brown. In addition, research was conducted about his coloring and the conclusion was made that the chances of his coloring being repeated are very low.
He currently serves as a therapy dog, and eventually will make his way to helping troubled adolescences. Kovu has completed behavior school and happily demonstrates his intelligence while walking around campus with his owner.
For now, he’s busy being a jogging partner through Liberty Park, a lover of peanut butter and occasionally kicking it with the Pi Kappa Alpha’s on Greek row. Kovu’s owner states, “Having a dog is hard but completely worth it. He has helped me grow as an adult.”
So why did we feature this amazing pup as our celebrity? He has just as much Ute pride as we do! He may even be getting a couple of Ute Sweaters for Christmas!
