HCX Luxury Hotel of the Week: Christmas at the New York Peninsula

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at Exeter chapter.

It’s difficult to think of a city that evokes holiday spirit better than New York – and that’s why our Luxury Hotel of the Week just has to be the exquisite Peninsula New York. Now that we’re almost at the end of term (no one mention the words ‘essay deadlines’ and we’ll all be fine) it’s well and truly time to start getting festive, and what better way to do it than to plan the Christmas of a lifetime in this winter wonderland?

The Peninsula is nestled right in the heart of the city, meaning visitors can reach all of its tourist attractions within a 15 minute walk – from ice-skating in Central Park, shopping for gifts at the lavishly decorated department stores, to strolling the snow-blanketed streets of Times Square, there is a never-ending abundance of things to do within the city that never sleeps and Christmas is the most magical time to see it.

The Peninsula is a hotel that prides itself on the quality of its customer service, but this isn’t the only feature worth talking about – the rooftop bar offers stunning panoramic views of the city. Find peace in the city that never sleeps and sit back and watch the world whizz passed you – champagne in hand!

If you need somewhere to unwind after a day of busy sightseeing, you can immerse yourself in the hotel’s breathtaking urban sanctuary – a luxury spa and swimming pool, high above the buzz of Manhattan. The spa offers a range of different beauty and massage treatments for you to enjoy – a perfect getaway within this bustling metropolis.

New York is always a good idea – but the iconic window displays adorning every shop window in Fifth Avenue and the voices of carol singers floating through Central Park makes Christmas time the most magical. Whilst you’re doing your Christmas shopping this year, consider treating yourself too and book yourself a room at the New York Peninsula – you’re onto something special…
