Holiday Makeup Ideas!

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at JMU chapter.

It’s that time of year again! The holidays are the perfect time to go all out with your makeup. Make a statement with dark, sexy lip shades and sparkly eye color. With a few of our short and easy tips you’ll be making long lasting impressions at any holiday bash.Lips: Nothing says it’s the holiday season like bold, red lips. Dark cherry lips are a definite must for any holiday occasion. It makes a statement while amplifying your look. And yes, while matte finish is everything these days, don’t be afraid to add some shine. Eyes: The holidays always call for a dramatic eye look. The best way to spice up your look is to top it off with gold or silver shadow on your eyelid, inner corners, and bottom rim. If you’re looking for something minimal, use a white shimmer eye pencil on the inner corners of the eye. To boost your look, just add fake lashes.

Face: Whether we like it or not, winter always gives our skin a paler look than usual. Use bronzer to brighten up your nighttime look. Also, when it comes down to using blush, make sure it’s in the warmer shades for a more subtle, but darker look. This will give you instant and more prominent cheekbones.

Remember to always prep your face with a good facial cleanser and primer to ensure your makeup lasts the entire night. After the night has ended, avoid going to bed with a full face of makeup. It clogs up your pores keeping you from perfect, glowing skin.Pictures courtesy of Pinterest
