While you’re rushing to pack after your last final, your mind is probably already at home where there is homemade food, no lines for the bathroom, and you get to have your room all to yourself again. But once you open up your bag, you realize you left some of the most important things back in your dorm room! Make sure you pack these essentials so you aren’t out of luck during our month-long break.
Computer Charger
Especially if you always leave it plugged into the same place, it can be easy to forget. Without that laptop charger, how are you going to power through all the Netflix marathons that are waiting for you?
Toothbrush
Unless you want to go buy a new one at home, this bathroom essential is a must. You can’t borrow your sibling’s toothbrush like you can do with their shampoo. Because that would be gross.
Your Favorite Outfit
Don’t over-pack, because you’re sure to get a whole bunch of new outfits in your wardrobe. But, guaranteed, you’ll have a big outing that you wish you had your favorite outfit for, whether that’s a family dinner or meeting up with old friends from high school.
Planner
Now that school is over for the semester, who needs their planner… right? You never know what will come up over break – from impromptu interviews for internships or friends wanting to know when your spring break is. Better safe than sorry.
Shoes
If you’re anything like us, you brought all your favorite pairs of shoes with you so you can rock them at school. Although we love being the fabulously dressed girl on campus, don’t be stuck at home with only the shoes you wore on the drive home (and if we’re being honest with ourselves, it’s probably our ratty pair of Uggs). Be sure to pack a pair of versatile boots and tennis shoes!
Dorm Key & All-Card
It may sound silly, but leaving your All-Card in your room will making getting back into your room in January a real pain. Slip your card and key into your wallet or purse and keep it there during break. That way, you know where it is when you need it again!
