HAPPY SECOND SEMESTER!Â
Classes have just begun at Kent State, and everyone is already crazy busy with papers and projects. It is actually unbelieveable that professors can’t wait until the second week to give you all of this work. I have some amazing tips to help you start your semester off strong. Every student wants to be successful in college but sometimes it is really difficult to stay motivated.
1. Buy an agenda
I cannot stress how important your agenda is. With everything that a college girl has going on in her life, it gets tough to stay on top of every class, due date, sorority meeting or even that scheduled Netflix binge!Â
2. ACTUALLY WRITE IN YOUR AGENDA
The more you make that agenda your bible, the more likely you are to succeed in your classes.Â
Papersource and Target have some really cute agendas!
3. Make a habit of going to class
You are paying to attend school, SO GO TO CLASS. I know when it is -18 degrees it makes it almost unbearable to walk to class, but if you think about how lucky you are that you have the opportunity to go college, when a lot of young adults do not… it will make you reevaluate things.Â
4. Make connections with your professors
Let them know who you are! You are amazing…and they should know that! The more they know you, the more likely they will be to help you out in the long run. The more connections you make with your professors, the more networking you’re doing because you never know what amazing people your professors know. Your professors might know people who could get you a job after school.Â
5. Take time for yourselfÂ
This winter break helped me realize that I never took time for myself, which made it hard for me to focus on school. Make it a point to take a few hours a week to not stress about school or the organizations that you’re involved with. The less you stress, the more you will want to go to class and learn.Â
6. Have fun, but also take school seriouslyÂ
College is the best time of our lives. So, have fun, but remember to study. Whether you study better alone or in a group, study! Write down those cram sessions in your new agenda. ;)Â
Now let’s all have an amazing semester!Â
