Babes & Gents

This student initiated and owned local company has blown up since its establishment in 2013. Mixing art and fashion, the brand defines a babe or gent as “a person who is passionate, inspired and a warrior in everything that he/she does”.

We reached out to the brands head designer, Amir Zargari, to give us an inside look on Babes & Gents as well let us in on what the future has in store for the company:

Q: What inspired you to start Babes & Gents?

A:  I was way too frustrated with school and decided to combine my two passions of art and clothing, and that’s when Babes & Gents was born.

Q: Describe a memorable moment for us since starting your brand.

A:  There’s too many to choose from, but the best one so far has to be the first time I showed a retailer our samples. They loved everything and literally said “bring ’em all!” I was so high on life that I don’t even know how I got home, then when it actually hit me, it was the best feeling ever.

Q: What is your go-to fashion essential?

A: Oh, that’s a tough one. At the moment it would definitely have to be an oversized tee.

Q: Where do you see Babes & Gents heading in the future?

A: We’re planning to expand the brand and reach other cities and countries. Also, the line will grow into full head to toe apparel.

Q: What brought you to the Capital Catwalk Event on January 31st?

A: At first it was the size of the event and then I stayed for the awesome people who plan and run the event and the guests who attend.
