In the heat of what seems to be the Snapchat “craze”, the company just released a new update to their application called Discover. This new feature allows Snapchat users to explore content from major brands and media partners such as Cosmopolitan, CNN, Food Network and ESPN. Daily, advertisements and news stories will be displayed, and Discover will become a functioning tool on a regular basis.

According to techcrunch.com, “This could be the most important feature update in the company’s history to date, especially if we’re talking about the startup’s goal to monetize the network faster than has traditionally been the case.” In an age where social media outlets are always reinventing themselves, Snapchat has finally revolutionized their purpose and stance among other media tools. Tapping into media and advertisement is a huge step, which leaves ample room for continual growth for the future.

If you are a fellow Snapchat crazed collegiette, there is no doubt this new feature will only continue to feed your addiction, especially with the Cosmo hacks and Food Network recipes! Finally, Snapchat is becoming so much more than perfecting the selfie, and has given us another resource to “discover” things more meaningful.
