The 4 Stages of Waiting for Founder’s Day Tickets

This article is written by a student writer from the Her Campus at American chapter.

It’s the event that’s got everybody at American talking, yakking, and posting– Founder’s Day. Unless you’ve been avoiding all social contact the last few days, you know that Founder’s Day tickets have officially gone on sale, but with a twist; the entire proces is online. While this saves many students hours of camping out in the cold, snagging a coveted ticket is still not an easy process. And if you, like many of your fellow students, have waited anxiously for tickets to go on sale, you know the four stages of Founder’s Day anxiety.

Stage 1: The Prep

A few minutes before tickets go on sale, you prep. Coffee in hand, you pull up the Eventbrite page(s). It’s also time to become mentally and emotionally ready for the hysteria you know is coming.

Stage 2: The Countdown

This is it; the final minute before tickets go live. You furiously begin refreshing the page and are counting down the seconds. Deep breaths, everyone.

Stage 3: The Bloodbath

The next minute or so is a blur. You refresh a page more times than you thought humanly possible. Eagle Secure gives out the one time you need it most. Your blood pressure is at an all-time high, and there may or may not be a few tears.

Stage 4: The Aftermath

This is the moment of truth, when those lucky enough to score a ticket receive their confirmation emails.

For everyone else, it means angrily scrolling through screenshots of Founder’s Day ticket emails on our newsfeeds.

After wallowing in anger and self pity, those without tickets have a renewed motivation. Mark my words, we WILL get Founder’s Day tickets. And you prepare to go through the four stages again…

Founder’s Day tickets are available today, Friday, January 30: 10:00 a.m. & 2:45 p.m., Saturday, January 31: 10:00 a.m. & 5:30 p.m., and Sunday, February 1: 11:00 a.m. & 3:00 p.m. May the odds be ever in your favor.
