Campus Cutie: Katie Furlan

HC: What are some thing that you love about Seattle University?

My fellow students are awesome, and I constantly feel like I’m being challenged to better myself! I’m also involved in the Sustainable Student Action Club, and I work as a residence hall monitor for Public Safety. Both of these communities have been awesome environments to be a part of and I’ve met some great people! The best part of Seattle U for me is… Seattle! Being is the city is always exciting and I love adventuring to all of the different neighborhoods and parks!

HC: If someone were to play you in a movie, who would it be and why?

If someone were to play me in a movie, I think I’d want it to be Josh Peck from Drake and Josh. I can recall so many moments from my childhood where I felt connected with Josh’s character, and he never failed to make me laugh. 

HC: What kind of music do you listen to? Any artist or album you are particularly fond of?

I’ve recently been listening to a lot of Ben Howard because I have a ticket to see him when he comes to Seattle in a few weeks! However, my guilty pleasure song is Hozier’s Jackie and Wilson. I’ve played it so many times that my roommie, Morgan, knows every word. 

HC: Who is your celebrity fashion icon and why?

I wouldn’t say that I have a fashion icon. I pretty much just wear whatever I like, whether it goes together or not. I’ve been watching a lot of Gilmore Girls in my free time, and I find myself loving Patty and Babette’s outfits! They wear a lot of muumuus which are both comfy and fashionable.

HC: What is your idea of a dream date?

“That’s a tough one. I’d have to say April 25th. Because it’s not too hot, not too cold, all you need is a light jacket.” 

But seriously, my ideal date would probably involve burritos and playing with dogs. 

HC: Who is the one person in your life that motivates you?

Buddy, my puppy, is my rock! He is my inspiration and I think about him everyday. His smiling face is a reminder to stay positive when life gets hard. I’d also like to recognize my parents for always supporting me in whatever decisions I make! I am lucky to have such a solid support group of family and friends.
