If you don’t already know Christine, you have definitely seen her around campus with her infectious smile! I only just met Christine last semester because of APEX and she was nice enough to have my roommate and me over to her house for an interview! She gave us a tour of her house as we talked for over an hour about life in general. There is never a dull moment because she is so involved and is so passionate about so many things at SJU…

It all started in “Delco” (If you are from anywhere around there she already likes you that much more). Currently, she is a senior at SJU with a major in Managing Human Capital. Besides being an Apex leader for Neon Kentucky this year (my leader) she is also a hawk host, works at the career development center (where she has already offered me resume help – phew) and she has a guaranteed full time job when she graduates, working at Comcast in Center City doing campus recruiting for their university relations. She is excited to know where she is going, but also feels bittersweet to have such a great four years end soon.

Now, on to the fun part!

HC: What would be your perfect date?

Christine: Anything involving food, I love eating and going into the city. Those two things are my favorite date activity, especially if the food is a Philly cheesesteak!

HC: Since I’m not from around here, I must ask: Pat’s or Geno’s?

Christine: Well it’s actually Tony Luke’s. (I’ve never even heard of this place, but I definitely marked it down to try.)

HC: If you could travel anywhere in the world were would you go, and why?

Christine: I would go back to Florence in a heartbeat – it was one of the best semesters and best experiences of my life. I could honestly go on-and-on about how it was the best time of my life and the post abroad depression never fully ends.

HC: Celebrity crush?

Christine: ( With no hesitation) Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon them together…yeah that Bromance they have going on.

HC: What’s a deal breaker?

Christine: If he’s not funny…

HC: But, this leads me to ask, single or taken? Sorry boys, it turns out she is taken and they have been dating since high school! (How Cute)

HC: What song would you do karaoke too?

Christine: Listen by Beyoncé or Love on Top—anything Beyoncé.

HC: What could we find on your nightstand?

Christine: Water bottles, my phone, a lamp, and a candle, sweet pea. I just bought it because the color matches my room!

HC: If you could have dinner and drinks with someone famous dead or alive who would it be and why?

Christine: Ellen DeGeneres for sure, if I could hang out with someone it would definitely be her, she rocks!

HC: Do you wake up early or stay up late?

Christine: I stay up late!

HC: Where do you hang out on campus?

Christine: I like the Library 2nd floor new side, but I always meet my friends in DB. But to be honest Barb courtyard is my absolute favorite spot on all of hawk hill!

HC: What is your favorite quote?

Christine: It’s Mark Twain. “ In twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do then by the ones you did do… So throw off the bowlines, sail away form the safe harbor, catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”

HC: I absolutely love that!

So, honesty after talking to Christine for a little more then an hour I felt as though I have known her for years, she is so easy and fun to talk to and get to know.

My final questions highlighted Apex more closely because that is how I met Christine and she said that she has done it for the past four years here at SJU. She is beyond thrilled to be a leader for Neon, especially along side Pete and Olivia. She can’t wait to give back to the program that has given her so much. She has never been to Neon and she is honestly petrified she might loose someone because the group is so large, but she was laughing saying this. She can’t wait to see how we all take in and experience Neon together because from what she hears it is an extremely special trip, like all the apex trips!

Little background on her Apex visits: Honaker, Virginia; Phelps, Kentucky; Jonesville Virginia. What a resource she is! Christine is a great leader here on campus and will definitely be missed next year!

HCXO,
